Last August 20, 2015, we launched Google Webrangers – a campaign (and competition) that encourages the Filipino youth to fight for a safer online world. Aspiring “Webrangers” registered and fought for their spot via webrangers.ph

In the process, I had the privilege of coaching and helping 3 groups crack the brief – to develop an anti-cyberbullying campaign –  a brief that even professional advertising creatives find difficult to solve.

To cut the long story short, all my teams’ hard work paid off as 2 of them broke into the top 3 – with group 7 even winning 1st place.

“Cyberbully 404” – composed of Hyun Ju Song from De La Salle Santiago Zobel, Adj Regidor of Enderun Colleges, Reanna Noel and Bea Aquino from Miriam College High School, and Haedric Daguman from St John of Beverley School – bested 11 other campaigns sifted from over 300 sign-ups.

Cyberbully 404 made a social experiment where they gave a set of cards containing insults to their acquaintances, challenging them to give it to others within the day.

“If you can’t say it in person, why would you do it online?” the campaign asked.” – Rappler

Part of their prize is a visit to Google Asia’s HQ in Singapore, where they get to present their winning idea to Google execs! How cool is that?

Always proud and happy to be part of a campaign that promotes the values I believe and live by. I really hope these kids continue changing the world!
